In some parts of Bangladesh, the rivers flood every year, and many villages have water everywhere for months. Children there often have no way to get to school. But one organization has a clever idea: schools on boats.

Each boat has one classroom with about thirty students. The classroom has desks, books, a small library and even computers. On the roof, the boat has solar panels, so the classroom has electricity all day.

Every morning, the boat stops at different villages and picks up the students. Then the class has lessons on the water. In the afternoon, the boat brings the children back home.

Rima is eleven years old. She has four brothers, and her family has a small farm. “Before the boat school, I didn't have a chance to learn,” she says. “Now I have books, I have friends, and I have a dream — I want to be a teacher.”

Today, there are many boat schools, and they have thousands of students. The idea is simple: if children can't come to the school, the school comes to the children!
