On rainy days, I like to sit with my grandfather and look at his old photo album.

“Who is this little boy with the big hat?” I ask. Grandpa smiles. “That is me! I was six years old in this photo.”

On the next page there are some black-and-white pictures of a small village. “These houses were our neighbors' homes,” Grandpa says. “And do you see those hills behind the houses? We played football there every day after school.”

At the end of the album, I find a picture of a big black dog. “Is this your dog?” I ask. “Yes,” Grandpa answers with a smile. “That was Rex, my best friend. Those were the happiest days of my childhood.”

I close the album and give Grandpa a hug. I love these rainy afternoons with him.
