Every Friday, my grandfather invites the whole family for dinner. There are many people at the table: my parents, my three uncles, my brothers and all my cousins. Together we are fifteen people!
The men cook together in the small kitchen. Grandpa makes soup with carrots and potatoes, and my uncle Sam bakes cookies for dessert.
The children have an important job too. We put the plates, the cups and the knives on the table. My little cousin Ben always forgets the spoons, so I help him.
After dinner, Ben eats too many cookies and says, “Oh no, my teeth hurt!” Everybody laughs. Then the babies go to sleep, and the older kids play games in the living room. These evenings are my favorite part of the week.
