Firefighter Yossi works at the fire station in Haifa. His day always starts at eight in the morning, and it sometimes ends the next morning!
First, the team always checks the trucks and the equipment. Everything has to be ready, because a call can come at any moment. Firefighters never know what the day will bring.
Fires are not the only job. Firefighters often help people in car accidents, and they sometimes rescue cats from trees. “People think we usually fight fires,” Yossi laughs, “but most of our calls are about other things.”
When there are no calls, the team cooks lunch together. They usually eat at one o'clock — but if the alarm rings, they never finish their lunch!
