On Friday afternoon, Yonatan and his friends were playing football in the street. Yonatan kicked the ball too hard, and it flew straight into Mr. Levi's window. CRASH! The window broke into pieces.
His friends told him to run away. “Nobody saw it,” Yair said. But Yonatan felt bad. He walked to Mr. Levi's door and knocked.
Mr. Levi opened the door and looked at the broken glass. Yonatan told him that he had kicked the ball, and he said that he was very sorry. He asked Mr. Levi how much a new window cost, and he said that he would pay for it with his own money.
Mr. Levi was quiet for a moment. Then he smiled. He said that a window could be fixed, but an honest boy was hard to find. He told Yonatan to pay only half, and he asked him if he could help in the garden on Sundays instead.
Since then, Yonatan has worked in Mr. Levi's garden every Sunday — and the two have become good friends.
