Every afternoon, Noam plays in the park with his dog, Pepper. Today, Noam throws the red ball very high. It flies over a tree and disappears!
Noam and Pepper look everywhere. They look under the big tree and behind the flowers. They look between the cars in the parking lot. No ball!
An old man sits on a bench with a book. “Are you looking for something?” he asks. “My ball,” Noam says sadly. The man smiles. “I think a bird has it,” he says, and points up. In a nest at the top of the tree, there is something red.
Noam laughs. “A bird can't play with a ball!” Pepper barks at the tree for a long time.
In the end, a gardener brings a long ladder and gets the ball down. Noam gives the man an apple to say thank you, and Pepper gets a big hug.
