This year, our class has a garden behind the school. Every student has a small part of it.
In the autumn, we planted seeds. I planted carrots, and my friend Eli planted sunflowers. We watered them every day, and our teacher showed us how to pull out the weeds.
At first, nothing happened. Then, after two weeks, small green leaves came out of the ground! Eli's sunflowers grew very fast. In the spring, they were taller than our teacher!
Last week we picked my carrots. They were small and a little funny-looking, but they were the sweetest carrots I ever ate.
