The octopus is one of the strangest animals in the sea. It has eight arms, three hearts and blue blood!

Octopuses are also very smart. Scientists have watched them open jars to get the food inside. Some octopuses in aquariums have even escaped from their tanks at night!

When an octopus is in danger, it has many tricks. It can change its color in less than a second to hide on rocks or sand. It can also squirt black ink into the water and swim away while the enemy cannot see.

Because it has no bones, an octopus can squeeze through a very small hole. No wonder people call it the escape artist of the sea!
